This training assists educators with the development of experiential learning activities, for deeper engagement of students and the development of critical thinking skills. Hands-on experiential and service-learning activities are shared, to bring learning to life and think critically about serving in our communities, as a means of language acquisition. Course participants develop specific ideas for their content areas, to enhance engagement within their existing curriculum.

5. Learning Language Through Music

Music has been a means of learning language throughout history and across cultures. Children and adults, alike, subconsciously absorb many aspects of language, such as grammatical concepts, verb tenses, and phonetic awareness, through the integration of music. This engaging training imparts hands-on techniques for all ages to effectively gain language proficiency, focusing on listening and writing skills. Participants select music, which is age and content appropriate for their students and which connects to their curriculum. Participants then learn techniques to integrate the music into active language acquisition. *This training may be applied to all languages, and bilingually as well.
